Eddie Eugene Hamric's Obituary
Eddie Eugene Hamric, 89, passed away to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 surrounded by family and friends at Germantown Methodist Hospital following a brief illness.
Eddie was born on August 2, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to James Edward and Vivian Williams Hamric. He was a graduate of M.C. Williams High School (Germantown High School), and married his high school sweetheart, Celeste Christie Hamric, in the summer of 1951. Eddie and Celeste made their home in Germantown, TN and raised their two sons before moving to Moscow in 2002. He retired after 33 years with Memphis, Light, Gas, and Water. Eddie was an active member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Moscow where he served as a deacon. He was also a member of The Gideons International.
Eddie was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 64 years, Celeste; both parents; and his sister, Carolyn Hamric Brown. He is survived by his sons, Michael Edward Hamric (Candy) of Moscow and William David Hamric (Louise) of Moscow; his grandchildren, Micah Wark (Chris), Christie Phillips, and Adam Hamric (Katherine); and seven great-grandchildren. He was known as Pop all of them. Everyone who knew him loved him.
Family will receive friends on Monday, November 6th, at 9:00 until graveside service begins at 10:00 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Oak Grove Baptist Church in Moscow, TN.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119.
