Echol Mitchell Bailey's Obituary
Echol Mitchell Bailey, 99, died January 23, 2025. She was the widow of Cecil W. Bailey, Jr., who died February 8, 2010. They were married almost 64 years. She was the daughter of Ollie and Phoebe (Diddie) Mitchell. She leaves two daughters, Jere Bailey (Elvis) Davis and Phyllis Bailey (Larry) Gullett, four grandsons, one granddaughter, and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was a member of LaBelle Haven Baptist Church in Olive Branch, Mississippi. She was formerly a member of Lamar Heights Baptist Church and Cherry Road Baptist Church in Memphis. At Lamar Heights, she worked in Sunday School, Church Training, VBS, and other activities. She sang in the choir in all three churches. At Lamar Heights and Cherry Road, she sang solos. She worked for the Baptist Brotherhood Commission for twenty years and retired as Inventory Manager and Purchasing Agent.
Funeral services will be Sunday, February 2, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
