Earline (Lynn) Short Rumage's Obituary
Earline Short Rumage (Lynn) of Germantown, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, 24 July 2018. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Floyd R. Rumage; two daughters, Cheryl Rumage Estes (Jack, Jr.) and Pamela R. Rumage, two grandsons, Jack Estes, III (Whitney) and Andrew H. Estes, and her sister, Pauline Short Simpson (James). Lynn was born in Bruce, Mississippi to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Short. She moved to Memphis in 1955 and met her husband, Floyd. They were married 19 August 1956 and have been active members of Germantown Baptist Church for over 53 years. Lynn was in banking for over 30 years, with Union Planters Bank, later Regions Bank, as a teller, loan officer, and assistant manager. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, the Memphis Garden Club, Four Seasons, and the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary. She was active in the Shelby County Republican Women’s Club and the Tennessee Federation of Republican Women, serving as an officer in both. Visitation will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, July 28 at Memorial Park on Poplar. The funeral, also at Memorial Park, will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday July 28. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Germantown Baptist Church for the fund benefiting theological students.Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
