Earl Franklin Tyus' Obituary
Earl Franklin Tyus passed away on April 7, 2011 in Lincoln, AL. He was born in Tampa, Florida on March 15, 1940 to Frank Tyus, Sr. and Mae Tyus, who both preceded him in death. Frank went on to have six children: Trey Tyus, who precedes him in death, Jessica Tyus of Millington, TN, Jeff Tyus who preceded him in death, Brad Tyus of Florida, Lyle Tyus of Florida, and Christina Hanks of Coffeeville, MS. Through those children, was born six grandchildren: Justin Tyus of Florida, Jenna Jenkins of Bartlett, TN, James Tyus of Memphis, TN, Harmony Montgomery of Memphis, TN, Karla Montgomery of Coffeeville, MS, and Hayden Hanks of Coffeeville, MS. He was married to his wife of 11 years, Brenda Tyus. He had several careers; a manager of Color Tile, auto salesmen, and door to door sales to name a few. Frank was a family man. He loved his family and would do anything for them. You didn’t have to be family for him to help you. He would help anyone he could in any way he could. He loved to watch Memphis State games. He was a loyal fan, and that didn’t stop when he moved to Alabama. He was proud of his Tigers, win or lose. He also loved to travel and he didn’t care where, either. One could say, Frank you wanna go here or there and he was ready to go. He loved to tell the stories of his travels and the good times he had. He also leaves his beloved dogs Tatter and Pixie, and a host of other family, friends, and extended family.
