Earl Wayne "Red" Galloway's Obituary
Earl W. Galloway (Red) 92, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2019, with his daughter at his side. Born October 26, 1926, in Saulsbury, TN to Vernon P. and Elma Rainey Galloway. Earl served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Earl married Helen Juanita McKee also of Saulsbury. They were married 64 years upon Juanita’s passing in 2011. Earl (Red) retired in 1994 after 42 ½ years at the VA Hospital where he received the highest number of accommodations awarded. Earl received the Points of Light Award given by President George W. Bush, Sr. Earl and Juanita were one of the first members of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by siblings, Eugene Galloway, Ruth Rushing Benton, Mary Syble Williams, Hazel Annette Brassfield and is survived by sisters, Joy Milliken, and Joyce Hawks; son, Jerry Galloway (Sharon); daughter and caregiver, Janice Galloway; grandson and caregiver, Michael Justin Barber (Nikki); granddaughters, Lauren Galloway Allen (Mitchell), Megan Ruth Elizabeth Galloway; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Grace Reed, Savannah Paige Reed, Thomas Michael Barber, Reagan Creed Allen, and Charlotte Reese Allen; also numerous brother and sister-in-laws. Thanks to a special doctor and friend, “Doc” William Vance Shappley. A special thanks for the love and care given by Carriage Court and Methodist Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday, January 11 at Memorial Park Funeral Home with funeral services Saturday, January 12, at 1:00 pm, also at Memorial Park.
