Dwayne Scholl's Obituary
W. Dwayne Scholl, 56, passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2023 with family by his side. He was born December 12, 1966 in Memphis, TN where he spent the majority of his life. He graduated from Overton High School where he shined as quarterback for the Varsity football team. Here he developed friends that lasted a lifetime. He married his life long partner, Pam Walton Scholl, September 3rd, 1994 and even gained a daughter that day too. They spent 29 years loving fur babies and enjoying each other.
Dwayne excelled in retail management for over 20 years, winning various awards. Whether it was customers, employees, Memphis Fire or Bartlett Police, he took time for them all. He knew he was placed in a special position to positively impact the community. He had an infectious chuckle, piercing green eyes, and a heart of gold that he made sure to share with everyone.
In his free time, he enjoyed rounds of golf rain or shine. He spent as much time making sure he was the sharpest dressed, as he did placing bets and beating friends. Although the golf course was a happy retreat, nothing took the place of time spent with his grandsons. He never missed an opportunity to play a game of PIG, go for a bike ride to the park, or cast a line in the lake. He will be forever known as their “DD” and any catfish they snag will be because of his secret sauce.
He is survived by his wife, Pam Scholl; bonus-daughter, Kimzey Cromwell, son-in-law Adam Cromwell; grandsons: Gavin and Grayson Cromwell; sister, Tammy LaSelle; brother, Jason Scholl; aunts, Teresa Runge, Betty Wright, and Gloria Hendrix; as well as beloved in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mom, Donna Kay Lloyd; father, Wayne Nelson Scholl and beloved grandparents.
Family and friends are welcome to attend the celebration of life Friday, January 27th at noon at Memorial Park Funeral Home in the Fireside Chapel. The family will also receive friends for visitation an hour prior to the service starting at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
