Duane McDaniel's Obituary
Duane Sloan McDaniel, 54 years old, was born November 6, 1962 on his father’s birthday. He grew up in Whitehaven and was a member of Whitehaven United Methodist Church, where he was baptized. He attended Joyland Kindergarten and Whitehaven Grade School, and later Desoto Academy and Memphis Prep. He was a printer by trade and was proud of his work on the screen printer. He lived in Memphis most of his life but spent 10 years in Florida in Brooksville and Boca Raton, of which he was proud. Duane had more love in his heart than all of us put together, and he died in Christ’s arms. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind his brothers, Johnny Alfred McDaniel, James Madison McDaniel IV and sister, Estelle McDaniel Watson. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Madison McDaniel and Estelle Sloan McDaniel and his beloved grandmother Estelle Gray Sloan. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 28at 2:30 pm and the family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:30 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. “Celebrating Life….Behind the Stone Wall.”
