Drusilla Stratton's Obituary
Druscilla Lomax Stratton, 77, died suddenly at St. Francis Hospital on Thursday, April 23, 2009. Born in Memphis on August 24, 1931, Dru graduated from Tech High School. She was an active member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Christian Homebuilder Sunday School Class there where she shared many dear friendships. She was an advocate for those with developmental disabilities and was instrumental in bringing the West Tennessee Family Solutions agency to the Memphis area to provide services and support to these individuals. After West Tennessee Family Solutions was established in Memphis, she devoted her time, energy and effort to this agency as a volunteer and major supporter. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Gerald Brown Stratton, and her three children, Rebecca Lynne Stratton, John David Stratton, and Jennifer Stratton Muhlbauer, and her son-in-law Michael Scott Muhlbauer. A visitation will be held Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home in the Riverside Chapel. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that memorials be sent to West Tennessee Family Solutions, 2795 Appling Road, Suite 114, Memphis, TN 38133.
