Doug Krell Jr.'s Obituary
Douglass Krell, Jr, 73, of Memphis TN, was called to his heavenly home on August 18, 2023.
Doug attended Germantown High School, after which he joined the U.S. Coast Guard where he was proud of his service as a Radarman. After completing his service, he attended and graduated from Memphis State University and worked in property management before moving into investment banking.
Perhaps his greatest accomplishment was his involvement in the substance abuse recovery community for 35 years. Countless people were blessed to have him in their corner. He was faithful to the recovery community and worked relentlessly, encouraging and mentoring those who wanted and desperately needed help. Doug was an ultimate example of service to God and his fellows.
"An Infinite Delight In Another's Well Being"
He is survived by his son, Brandon D. Krell (Kristen), who was the light of his life and the source of great pride. He is also survived by his sister, Lisa K. McConnaughy (John) and brother Robert A. Krell (Rebecca) whom he loved dearly. He is predeceased by his father, A. Douglass Krell Sr, mother, Jane P. Krell and brother Kurt J. Krell.
A service honoring and celebrating his life will be held on October 7, 2023 at 1:00pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 5668 Poplar Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution to the charity or organization of your choice. Alternatively, simply engage others with love and kindness, even when it is difficult, as Doug would have done.
