Dorothy Fuller Vaughan's Obituary
Dorothy Fuller Vaughan, 99 and a half years old, went home to be with the Lord on April 17, 2024, at Methodist Hospital – Germantown.
She was born at Memphis General Hospital on August 19, 1924, to Geoffrey Carstairs and Disa Jane Fuller. She graduated from Messick High School in 1942. Dorothy was a woman of deep faith and member at Ridgeway Baptist Church (formerly Southern Avenue Baptist and originally Central Avenue Baptist Church).
She was the last of her generation and had one brother, Woodrow Fuller, and four sisters, Roberta Busby, Ruth Olson, Mildred Sessions, and Betty Garner.
Dorothy married Darwin Penn Vaughan in 1942 and was married for 68 years when he died in 2011. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dr. Donald Reid Vaughan. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Jane “BJ” Green (Allen), and sons, Gary Fuller Vaughan (Pam) and Ronald Jeffrey Vaughan (Natalie), and daughter-in-law, Alice Vaughan. She was blessed with ten grandchildren and thirty-four great-grandchildren and loved them all dearly.
Visitation will be held at Ridgeway Baptist Church, 2500 Ridgeway Road on Wednesday, April 24th, at 10 a.m. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Ridgeway Baptist Church.
