Dorothy Robertson "Robbie" Smith's Obituary
Dorothy Robertson “Robbie” Smith, 71, of Memphis died peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2015. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, M. Hue Smith III, her daughters Dorothy Downard “Dee Dee” Dunehew (David) and Shelby Hue Terry (Bernard), two grandsons, Joseph Bryce Terry and Blake Hue Terry, and her furry daughter, T. George Smith. She also leaves her sisters Ruth McCaughan Morrison, Judy Coburn McCalla, Jane Coburn Youngsman, Anne Coburn Brutsche, her brother John Fletcher McKay, and aunt Elizabeth L. Newhouse. She is predeceased by her father James Ely Robertson, mother Dorothy Downard McCaughan, stepfather John Joseph McCaughan, brother John Joseph McCaughan, Jr., sister Anne McCaughan Kitts, and uncle James Shelby Downard. Robbie was an avid reader, gardener, cook, and grammar cop. (We hope we have all of this grammatically correct.) A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Tuesday, February 24, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Methodist Hospice Residence or a charity of the donor’s choice.
