Dorothy Quinton's Obituary
Dorothy Quinton passed into the arms of Jesus and her husband George on April 23, 2019. Dot, as she was called by friends and family, was born in Forest City Ark. on September 11, 1917 to parents Thomas and Mazie O’Brien. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George Quinton, and her five siblings Tommy, Bill, Francis, Alice and Rose.Dot is survived by her three sons Rich, Ed (Diana) and Everett (Karen) Quinton, four grand children, Daniel, Stephanie,Chad and Andrea, four great grand children, Trey, Haillie, Anna and Austin and nieces and nephews. She loved little children. Dot taught kindergarten for 23 years and then was director of the Mother”s Day Out program at Highland Heights Baptist Church for 18 years. She had a big impact on hundreds of young lives.Dorothy and her husband loved to go camping. They would keep the camper ready to go at all times and if they had a few days, they would load up and spend time at one of their favorite campgrounds. In fact all campgrounds with a lake were their favorites. They loved fishing and Dot was a very good fisherwoman. George would sometimes get a little upset when Dot would catch more or bigger fish than he did.More than anything Dot had a servants heart. She was always doing something for someone that needed her kindness. She made many blankets, afghans and throws for anyone who needed one. She volunteered at St. Jude, making items for the children such as hats or mittens.Dorothy’s first love was her savior Jesus. Her second love was her family. She was a great wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt. She cherished time with her family and loved to visit family and to have family visit her. She loved it when there would be a house full of nieces and nephews with her siblings. With her having three sons there were usually extra mouths to feed as there were always friends at the house. Serving others was the one thing that always made her happy.Knowing that Dot is now in the arms of Jesus and reunited with George and her family that went before her, gives those left behind much comfort. She was truly an amazing woman. She will be missed very much but will never be forgotten by anyone that had their lives touched by hers. The family request the in lieu of flowers, that donations in her name to St.Jude or to the donor’s favorite charity.
