Dorothy "Dotti" Patterson's Obituary
Dorothy Agneta Patterson, our sister, Dotti, finished her journey on earth on December 19, 2018 at the age of 75 from complications of multiple myeloma.Dotti was a talented dancer and an even more talented teacher of dance, starting her career in New Albany, MS. After several years she opened her own studio, teaching tap, jazz and ballet atDotti’s School of Dance in Germantown and Collierville. She finally retired after 51 years. Dotti was a member of Southern Association of Dance masters, Central Church Ambassador class and a loyal Tigers fan.Dotti leaves behind her sisters, Martha Baker and Pat Spencer; her nieces, Tracy Hannon and Bethany Newman; her nephews, Scott Spencer, Charles Baker and Matthew Baker and her great nieces and nephews, Jared, Devyn, Ava, Alex, Austin, Paige, Nene & Diego, all of whom were like her own children. Her family would like to thank her three wonderful caregivers who gave her so much loving attention, Carolyn Anderson, Evelyn Jackson and Lela Gilmore. They became her dear friends. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Central Church or Brinkley Heights Urban Academy.The family will receive friends on Saturday, December from 11:00-12:30 p.m. with the funeral to follow immediately at 12:30 p.m. All services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
