Dorothy Stewart Murray's Obituary
Ms. Dorothy age 85 of Memphis, Tennessee passed away on March 21, 2026. She was born on May 6, 1940 in Byhalia, Mississippi, to the late George Thomas Stewart and Emma Lillian Algee Stewart.
Dorothy graduated from Central High School in 1958 and then went on to attend Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis). In 1961, she married the love of her life, William Stephen Murray, Sr. They were married 63 years until he passed away. After marrying, they would later own Murray Mobile Homes and Aaron Financial Services.
She is survived by her two sons, William Stephen Murray, II and his wife, Ann and Stewart Shannon Murray and his wife, Cybil; one daughter, Shawn Murray Leonard and her husband, Greg; two sisters, Della Grant and Linda Wilburn; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service for Ms. Dorothy will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 1:00pm in the Fireside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation an hour prior to the service starting at 12:00pm.
