Dorothy Lux's Obituary
Dorothy Buchanan Lux, 91, died Monday, July 1, 2013 in Palm Harbor, Florida. She was the wife of Henry E. Lux, former Chief of Police of the Memphis Police Department. Mrs. Lux was born on August 11, 1921, in Memphis. She graduated as a registered nurse from the St. Joseph School of Nursing in Memphis and worked in that field for many years. She and her husband were devout Christians and worshipped together much of their lives at Central Church in Memphis. Mrs. Lux is survived by a daughter, Lotten (Ken) Walsh of Palm Harbor, Florida, two sons, Buddy (Kathy) Lux of Woodbridge, Virginia and John (Peggy) Lux of Collierville. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Walsh of Franklin, Tennessee, Hank Lux of Savannah, Georgia, Laura (Greg) Corombos of Woodbridge and Jonathan Lux of Collierville. Dorothy is also survived by a great granddaughter, Katie Corombos. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward and Lotten Buchanan, husband Henry E. Lux, Sisters Elizabeth Buchanan, Annie Laurie Buchanan and Sarah Fife and Brothers William, James and O.W. “Buck” Buchanan; and a great grandson, Mason Henry Lux. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 5, at Memorial Park on Poplar Ave. in Memphis. Funeral and burial services are scheduled for Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park.
