Dorothy Koen's Obituary
Dorothy Himel Koen, 86, loving wife and mother, passed away Tuesday, November 30 at Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was a former Communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. She was the widow of James Dunn Koen and leaves two daughters, Ramona Hughes of Cordova, and Karen Schmitt of Memphis; two sons, Keith Koen of New Iberia, LA, J.D. Koen of Memphis; one sister, Patsy Gill of Hammond, LA; two brothers, Ray Himel and Jamie Himel, both of Hammond, LA; and five grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Wednesday, December 1 at Memorial Park and the service will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, December 2, at Memorial Park Riverside Chapel. Deacon Jack Chitwood will be officiating. Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Memorial Park Funeral Home, “Behind the Stone Wall”, (901)767-8930.
