Dorothy Keadle's Obituary
Dorothy Keadle, loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024, at the age of 90.
She was preceded in death by her husband Pat Keadle, her sister Carolyn Copeland, her brother Bob Keelen, and her son Todd Keadle.
She is survived by her daughter Karen Kendrick, son-in-law Larry Kendrick, grandchildren Davis and Keelen Kendrick, and daughter-in-law Luci Keadle.
Dorothy was born in Jackson, Tennessee to William and Dorothy Keelen. She graduated from Messick High School in Memphis and attended Memphis State College (now the University of Memphis).
In 1958 she married the love of her life, Pat Keadle, and together they raised a family in a home full of love, laughter, joy, and sports. The family continued to grow with the addition of a son-in-law, daughter-in-law, and her two grandchildren, whom she lovingly called her “angels.”
Dorothy was many things to many people. She and her sister Carolyn were two peas in a pod and did everything together, including raising their respective families. To her children, she was always present and had a talent for making even the common, everyday moments special and memorable. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and never missed a chance to play with them or attend a soccer game or gymnastics meet.
Above all, Dorothy had a joyful and loving spirit, which she never lost.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 29 in the Riverside Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with services beginning at 10:30 followed by interment. Immediately following, a reception for close friends and family to remember and celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held at 7780 Hunters Run in Germantown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dorothy’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
