Dorothy V. Heinz Curd-Adams' Obituary
Dorothy V. Heinz Curd-Adams, 88, widow of John F. Curd passed away Monday September 26, 2011. A native Memphian and graduate of Humes High School. She leaves her husband, William L. Adams, a daughter Lisa V. Curd, a son John F. Curd II and daughter-in-law Joan Curd all of Bartlett, 3 granddaughters, Karen Curd of Germantown, Julie Curd of Chapel Hill, NC, Jennifer Smiley (Jason) of Denver, CO, 2 sisters-in-law Gladys Heinz of Memphis, Barbara Jean Jeffares of McDonough, GA, a brother-in-law Pat Curd of Milan, TN, a stepson Alan Adams of New Orleans, LA, 2 stepdaughters Carol Elliott and Judy Perry of Germantown. Mrs. Adams retired from Dover Elevator Co. after 35 years and then joined A&I Travel Agency as an independent agent. A charter member of St. Elisabeth’s Episcopal Church, she served on the vestry, president of St. Elisabeth’s ECW, choir member for over 40 years and a member of the Daughter’s of the King. She was a charter member of The Memphis Chapter of Executive Women International and member of Weeders & Seeders Garden Club. In lieu of flowers the family requests any memorials be given to St. Elisabeth’s Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 34280, Memphis, TN 38184. Visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Episcopal Cathedral, 700 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN Friday, September 30 at 1:00 pm followed by a Requiem Eucharist at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Memphis Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 3700 N. Germantown Rd. Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge of arrangements “Behind the Stone Wall”.
