Dorothy Haney's Obituary
DOROTHY INEZ WARD HANEY, 96, of Arlington, TN passed away November 15, 2013. She was born September 8, 1917 in Kosciusko, MS to Ebon and Lettie Ward. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Thomas B. Haney and five siblings. She moved to Memphis at 17 to attend secretarial school. She met Tom at Ferry Morris Seed Company where they both worked. Later they started Haney Ceramic Supply because of her gift of painting. She taught classes in ceramics and porcelain and was featured in many trade magazines across the country. She also became a talented oil painter. She and her husband Tom traveled across the US, China, Japan, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. She was a long time member of Bellevue Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Charles (Theresa) and a daughter, Shirley (Dave). She is also survived by two brothers, John Morris Ward and Douglas Ward (Francis); six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was a very loving mother and grandmother. A special thanks to the family for their help and care of her. Also, special thanks to the nurses and aides at Kings Daughters and Sons Home. The family will receive friends and family 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 20. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, November 21.
