Dorothy Hunt Hamrick's Obituary
Dorothy Hunt Hamrick died April 2, 2026. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 4 at 12:00 noon at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee. Visitation will precede the service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
Dorothy was a career piano teacher, having taught children and adults for more than 50 years. She was a gifted teacher who not only taught the fundamentals of playing the piano but instilled in her students a passion and love for music. She was also an accomplished pianist and served in that role for 15 years at Highland Heights Presbyterian church. She was a member of Woodland Presbyterian Church, serving as a long-time volunteer for the church’s Food Pantry Ministry. Dorothy leaves her husband, Mike (of 62 years); daughters, Susan Bingham (Scott) and Rebecca Hensley (Justin); son, Michael Hamrick, Jr. (Cindy); and four grandchildren, Harrison, Kate, Gina, and Mark. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to Woodland Presbyterian Church’s Food Pantry Ministry, 5217 Park Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee, 38119, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
