Dorothy Greiner's Obituary
ROBERT WILLIAM COLSTON, 86 year old retired business educator, died July 10, 2010 in Anchorage, Alaska, in the arms of his loving daughter, who cared for him the last 7 months of his life. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, December 25, 1923. He served in the Army/Air Force 1942-1946 as an airplane mechanic. His happiest days were coaching high school at Gibbs in Tennessee and he went on to get his PeD in Health and Physical Education from the University of Indiana. He was the director of Junior Achievement for Memphis for 30 years and enjoyed mentoring young people in the principles of the free enterprise system. He was married to the “love of his life”, Kathryn for 60 years and was devastated when she died in June 2005. He was missing her terribly and was eagerly awaiting the day they would be reunited in heaven. At his request there will be no service. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Colston Denton, MD of Anchorage, Alaska; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Shirley Payne of Anniston, Alabama and many dear friends, both in Tennessee and Alaska. He will be buried beside his wife in Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee.
