Dorothy Mae Greaney's Obituary
"Dot" joined her brothers, Edward Francis Greaney Jr. and William Andrew Greaney and her parents, Edward Francis Greaney Sr. and Catherine Brown Greaney after a short illness at Allen Morgan Health Center. Dorothy graduated from UT - Knoxville, she taught in the Memphis City Schools from 1950 to 1983 at East High, was a librarian at Georgia Avenue Elementary, and spent her last 11 years teaching third grade at Richland Elementary. She leaves five nieces and nephews, George Greaney of Richmond, Virginia, Mary Catherine Ozdogan of Houston, Texas, Devin and Mark Greaney of Memphis, Tennessee, and Edward "Trey" Greaney of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She loved staying in touch with family and friends near and far, writing numerous letters (always handwritten). She was an avid newspaper reader, and loved bridge, her church community and her crossword puzzles. She was also a member of Lourdes Circle. Dorothy was a resident of Trezevant Terrace for the last five years. Funeral mass will be held Friday June 12th, 10 am at Holy Rosary where she was a parishioner for the last 35 years.
