Dorothy Roberts Davis' Obituary
Dorothy Roberts Davis, 84, of Collierville, TN, died on April 16, 2009, after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.She was born September 1, 1924, in Nashville, TN and raised in Memphis. Dorothy was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and her biggest joy in life was her family, who knew her by Bee Bee. She gave her gift of love and kindness to everyone.Dorothy was best known for “Sue’s Bakery” located on Beale Street in Memphis during the 50’s and 60’s.She is survived by one daughter, Karen Roberts Garner and son Robert (Bob) W. O’Keefe (Nancy) of Memphis. She also leaves three grandchildren, Abbey Garner Moore, Amanda O’Keefe, and Reggie Garner, Jr. (Jennifer); two great-grandchildren, Dorothy Izabella Moore and Greer Roberts Garner; two brothers, Robert W. Fry (Katie), Jack Fry (Lillian) and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends.She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sidney W. O’Keefe, Jack Carmack Roberts, her father and mother, Roscoe W. Fry, Wilma May Fry and brother Harold E. Fry.Visitation will be held in the Pollard Chapel of Bellevue Baptist Church on April 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the Methodist Healthcare Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
