Doris Herzog's Obituary
Doris Elizabeth Herzog, 96, of Denver, CO died peacefully and went to be with the Lord on January 16, 2015. Doris was born and raised in Memphis and was married to Raymond L. Herzog for 67 years. They raised two children, Ray Jr. and Carol Ann (Boyd). Upon her passing she had six grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and will be remembered as an adoring and loving mother and grandmother. Doris and Ray lived in Memphis until 1986. Doris worked for much of her married life at Memphis State University (Law Library). She was a member of First Assembly of God church until leaving Memphis. After retiring, Doris moved with her husband to Kailua Kona, HI near her daughter and family. She moved in 2004 to Arlington, VA, living with her daughter and family. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Sr. in 2007 and her son, Ray Jr. in 2009. She leaves behind her brother Frank Younger of Richmond, VA, her daughter Carol Ann Boyd of Denver, CO, grandchildren, Elizabeth Schmidt and Stephanie Worsham of Cordova TN, Gretchen Meighen of Half Moon Bay, CA, Aaron Boyd of Hermosa Beach, CA, Jonathan M. Boyd of Ft. Langley, B.C., Canada, and Fuxia T. Boyd of Denver, CO. A memorial service will be held on April 11, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
