Donna Adair Ruch's Obituary
Donna Adair Ruch, 85, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025. She was born in Memphis to the late Andrew “Ed” Adair and Donna Evelyn Adair and was raised in Byhalia, MS
She married the love of her life, John N. Ruch from Collierville TN in August of 1958 and was married for 53 years before his passing in January 2011.
Before John’s passing, they retired and moved to their favorite vacation place in Sarasota, FL for over eight years. Donna and John missed their loving family and moved back to the Memphis area.
Donna graduated from business college and worked for a top pediatric group in Memphis and then at Semmes Murphy as a medical secretary for a top pediatric neurosurgeon. Donna loved the medical field and was known for her professionalism and commitment. Her work life was characterized by her diligence and caring nature, which extended to everyone she encountered.
She was an active member of Christ Community Church in Memphis TN, a friend to many and beloved by her entire family. She loved to worship Jesus; in her later years she was unable to attend in person because of health limitations. Donna loved to hear hymns and sermons preached at Kirby Pines and by her pastor, Reverend Larry Ray. She was known for her friendly demeanor and caring personality; she had a knack for brightening the lives of those around her.
Donna adored her family. She was an excellent cook and loved having her family and friends in her home to celebrate birthdays, holidays, and anything else going on at the time. Donna also loved talking, hugs, being outdoors, shopping, decorating, and a hot cup of coffee.
She will be remembered for her many words, enduring bonds, and the joy she brought to everyone.
Donna was preceded in death by husband, John Norris Ruch, brother Jack Adair, one son in law, Bill Vest.
She is survived by her five children, Linda Irwin (Tim), Cheryl Vest, Christopher Ruch, Craig Ruch, Susan Wampler (Robert), six grandchildren, T.J. Irwin (Marissa), David Irwin, Phillip Irwin, Ashley Henderson, Audrey Henderson, Bo Yarbrough, and seven great grandchildren.
The visitation will be held Thursday, March 27, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until the Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
As we reflect on her legacy, we are reminded to embrace our loved ones, enjoy the outdoors, and have a hot cup of coffee or a cold coke.
