Donald D. Thomas' Obituary
DONALD D. THOMAS of Germantown, TN, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at his home.He was born on January 5, 1952 in Centerville, IA, the son of Doyle and Carol Thomas. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Thomas. Don graduated from Wayne Community High School in 1970 and Northeast Missouri State in Kirksville, MO in 1974. He received his Master of Business Administration degree from Drake University in Des Moines, IA in 1979. After moving to Germantown in 1988, Don served as Controller for Thomas & Betts for 13 years and retired as Controller from TBC Corporation in 2006. He was a member of Memphis National Golf Club in Collierville since 1988 and attended Hope Presbyterian Church. Don’s greatest passions were his family, golf and football.Don is survived by his mother, Carol Thomas of Corydon, IA, his wife of 37 years, Diana Thomas, children Brian and Tricia Thomas of Collierville, TN, Jon Thomas of Cordova, TN and James Thomas of Cordova, TN. He also leaves three brothers Dennis Thomas of Corydon, IA, Terry Thomas of Des Moines, IA, and Tim Thomas of Des Moines, IA.The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, August 25 from 6- 8 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
