Donald Gene Lemonds' Obituary
Donald Gene Lemonds, 86, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023. Don was born on April 28, 1936 in Pine Bluff, AR to Joseph and Grace Lemmonds, and moved to Memphis where he later attended Tech High School and University of Memphis. He then went on to have a long and rewarding career in the railroad industry, most of which was at CSX as a National Account Executive. His early retirement allowed him to travel the world with his wife, Gerry, and spend quality time with his many grandchildren. Don was happiest enjoying sunsets at Orange Beach and cheering on Memphis Tigers basketball. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gerry P. Lemonds. Don is survived by his son, Donald G. Lemonds, Jr., of Memphis, TN, daughter, Kathryn Weathers, of Memphis, TN, son, Robert Lemonds and his wife, Saray of High Point, NC, grandchildren Heath Lemonds and his wife, Emily, of Dallas, TX, Jeremy Walker and his wife Lauren of Memphis, TN, Zach Crapa and wife, Sarah of Memphis, TN, Seth Lemonds of Dallas, TX, Laura Crapa of Collierville, TN, Emily Kessler and her husband, Joseph of Memphis, TN, Robert Lemonds, Jr., Christopher Lemonds, Nicholas Lemonds and Caleb Lemonds of High Point, NC, Hunter Lemonds of Memphis, Tennesse. A memorial service will begin at 2PM, following a visitation hour at 1PM on Friday, February 24th, 2023 at Memorial Park Cemetery 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119.
