Donald Oliver Cooper's Obituary
Donald Oliver Cooper, 90, passed away January 27, 2016. Don was born in Butler, PA on August 21, 1925 to Charles F. Cooper and Hazel Nellie Gilliland. Upon the death of his father, Don was enrolled in the Hershey School for Boys in Hershey, PA where he graduated in 1943. After serving in the Marine Corps, he began building a successful business manufacturing parts for high performance race cars. His interests over the years were NASCAR races and collecting beautiful antiques. He was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church where in 2008, he married Aspasia “Pat” Ballas Bacopulos. Along with his wife, he leaves his sons, Donald Cooper Jr. (Linda) of Burleson, TX, Rick Cooper (Karen) of Collierville, TN, Keith Cooper and Chuck Cooper (Susan) of Port Orange, FL; his adopted son, Eddie Overton (Linda) of Memphis, TN; and step-daughters, Stacey Bacopulos and Marianthe Pilcher (Derek). He also leaves his sister, Shirley Crowder of Alexandria, VA; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-greatgrandchild. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday, January 31 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, February 1 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
