Donald Lunsford Bowden's Obituary
Donald Lunsford Bowden, Sr., 85, of Cordova, passed away on January 30, 2015. He was born September 7, 1929 in Covington, TN to Gordon and Anna Belle Bowden. Mr. Bowden was a graduate of Byars Hall High School in Covington.After service in the Army, he worked for International Harvester for 23 years. Also during that time, he started Bowden Real Estate with his wife, Helen Bowden. In 1971 he started Bowden Building and was one of the largest homebuilders in the Mid South area.Mr. Bowden was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ervin Bowden and survived by his sons, Don Bowden, Jr. (Kayla), and Jere Bowden (Kim) all of Memphis. He also leaves three grandchildren, Trey, Lauren, and Gracie, and one great grandchild Sage.The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of the donor’s choice.
