Dr. Donald Anishanslin's Obituary
Dr. Donald Anishanslin, age 93, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Donald was born in St. Louis, Missouri on December 24, 1924. He was a Merchant Marine during World War II and served our country with pride and honor. He married Lillian Rush on August 30, 1947 and spent 49 wonderful years together. He was a devoted husband and father with much shared love for his family. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in June of 1956, and became a Dermatologist serving the Memphis area. His Love and Passion for life showed all of us the true meaning of how each day should be lived. Donald started his day early at the golf range with his buddies. Then back home for a quick nap before heading off to the ballroom dancing for the evening. This schedule would wear most people down , but at 93 he made it a point every morning while getting out of bed, “Thank You Lord for another day”. Donald was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, son, Donald Jr. and brother, Emil Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Dawn York (Jim) of North Carolina, sister, Sandra Kay Bryan, of Memphis and Lan Long, his beloved companion in his final years.The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. and funeral services will immediately follow at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 10 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the charity of donors choice.
