Don was an influence in my life during Operation Desert Storm. Being the father of Jennifer whom I wrote to during the war, he invited me to come to Memphis many times to visit and stay in his home. His mild manner, can do attitude, carpenter skills, sense of humor, and friendship is something I will never forget.
Lastly, I will never forget the day I retired from the Marine Corps I was standing on the parade deck and glanced up at the reviewing stand and there was Don and Jennifer smiling... he had driven all night to NC make sure Jennifer made my retirement parade.
Rest in peace Don, you are in Heaven now with Julie..
