Dollie Wood's Obituary
Dollie A. Wood, 97, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Bright Glade Convalescent Center. She was a faithful member of Lindenwood Christian Church for 70 years. She enjoyed working part time at Goldsmith’s Oak Court in the Casualaire dress department. Her hobbies included gardening, fishing and travel from Alaska to Florida. But her real passion was her family. She created a home and hub for her loved ones where the food was the best, wit the sharpest, laughter the loudest, and the memories vivid enough to last a lifetime. She was preceded in death by her parents Levi and Della Justice and seven of her siblings. Her husband of 37 years, William Riley Wood passed away in 1972. She is survived by her two children, William D. Wood (Jeanette) of Rosemark, TN and Debbie Richter (Paul) of Lakeland TN, a sister Judy Wagner of Anchorage AK, five grandchildren, Ben Tull (Angie), Denise Wood, Bill Wood (Teresa) of Birmingham AL, Mike Wood (Patricia) of Marietta GA and Kim Nourse of Huntsville AL, and twelve great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 4, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Memphis Memory Gardens. The family would like to thank the staff of Bright Glade Convalescent Center for their kind and loving care of Dollie. Flowers will be welcome since Dollie loved them so, but contributions can be made to Lindenwood Christian Church.
