Dixie Lynn Grace's Obituary
Dixie Lynn Grace was born June 1, 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee to Richard and Mary Margaret Matz. She was raised and continued her adult life in Memphis, Tennessee, always cheering for the Memphis Grizzlies and University of Memphis Tigers. In between watching games, she loved to attend the Memphis Italian festival, spend time with loved ones, thrift shop, hold yard sales, and play bunco. To know Dixie was to love her – even in her “hard-headed” moments. Dixie was diagnosed with cancer in March 2024 and fought a battle with it until she passed January 23, 2025. Her memory will continue through her family, friends, and many others she affected throughout her life.
Dixie Lynn is survived by her three children: Holly (Danny), Dustin (Melissa), and Michael (Lena), nine grandchildren: Kaitlyn (Justin), Austin (Angel), Courtney, Crystal, Caydence, Savannah, Declan, Jackson, and Hazel, and seven great-grandchildren: Shanyla, Saniya, Kaiden, Austin Jr., Olivia, Kodah, and Cannon. She is also survived by three sisters: Karen, Kathy, and Laurie and many close friends including Nora, Judy, Doey, Maureen, and Robin (Tom). Dixie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mary and Richard Matz and three sisters: Sandy, Gayle, Ann Nell.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, February 2, 2025 at 2:00pm in the Fireside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation an hour prior to the service from 1:00pm to 2:00pm
