Diane M. Kusmierz's Obituary
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Diane Mae (Shofner) Kusmierz, passed away quietly in the presence of her husband and children in the early evening hours of Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee, age 72. Diane was born to Elsie Hazel Berg and Wallace Lee Shofner on September 1, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois. Diane was a graduate of Hanford High School, Class of 1966 in Hanford, CA. On July 11, 1975 inside of Sacred Heart Wedding Chapel in Reno, Nevada, Diane married the love of her life, Richard T. Kusmierz, and he survives her. They spent 45 wonderful years together. One of her favorite past times was porcelain doll making mold making, and reading. Above all, nothing meant more to Diane than her family; especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Diane loved being a grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed dearly by all, and her memories will be treasured forever.
Left to cherish her memories are her six beloved children, Christine M (Simon) Fox, Michael S. Simon, Richard T. Kusmierz II, Terri L. (Kusmierz) Perez, James E. Kusmierz, and Franchele N. Kusmierz; fifteen grandchildren, Samantha, Tabatha, Brian, Jessica, Courtney, Timothy, Joseph, Arameus, Madeline, Brianna, Mikala, Jordan, Ashly, Eliana, and Israel; seven great grandchildren, Zoe, Gabriel, Arianna, Elsie, Oliver, Annika, and Ryan. Diane is happily reunited with her parents, Elsie Hazel Berg and Wallace Lee Shofner; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Delores Kusmierz; brother-in-law, Michael Kusmierz, sister-in-law Linda Kusmierz, and sisters Bonnie Worrell and Linda Stiles.
