Diana Rucker's Obituary
Diana Forgey Rucker, beloved wife, mother, and Memama, 68, fought the good fight, finished the race, kept the faith, and was made whole in the arms of Jesus on Friday September 7, 2012 at home. The family will receive friends from 5p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, September 10, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN. The funeral service will be held on 12 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Bellevue Baptist Church in the Chapel. Diana was born in Cairo, IL on March 23, 1944 to George and Erva Forgey. She worked as a secretary, served, and also was a member at Bellevue Baptist Church for 20 years. During that time she taught Sunday School, Thrivers Class and the Restorerʼs Life Group, and in the last few years was a member at Gateway Baptist Church. Diana was a breast cancer survivor and bravely fought leukemia for the past year. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Erva Forgey, son in law, Bob Byington, and granddaughter, Chase Marie Rucker. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, who adored her, Joe Rucker; children Debbie Rucker Parker (Gregg) of Corinth, MS, Jana Rucker Jarvis (Mike) of Atoka, TN, Joey Rucker of Atoka, TN; grandchildren Kara Parker Reedy, (Jake) of Oxford, MS, Jordan and Joel Parker of Corinth,MS Haley, Hannah, David, Micah and Joseph Jarvis of Atoka, TN, Jay, Jesse, and Grace Rucker of Atoka,TN, one great-granddaughter Hayes Reedy of Oxford, MS, and one sister, Darlene Forgey Espy of Medina, TN. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
