Dian Galvan's Obituary
The Heavens are shining with Love and Kindness. A truly loving and strong woman has come home to eternally rest with the Lord.
Dian Carolyn Huey Galvan, age 75, passed away April 29, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dian was born on October 05, 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Ellis and Vannie Huey.
Dian loved her family and spent a lifetime being mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, daughter, and wife. She showed a constant love to everyone and guided her family to be honest and fair. Dian spent her lifetime nurturing and caring for all selflessly. Her biggest wish for her family and the world was to share kindness. The world needs more kindness.
Affectionately known as “Doodah” by her loving husband, the two of them shared valued time together in their new home in Las Vegas. Dian and Richard lived and loved surrounded by children. Little things shared were testaments to their lives. From making sure to tell everyone Good Morning every day with plenty of colorful hearts to answering many phone calls from her children every day, where we continued to seek Mom’s wisdom and understanding, but mostly her kindness.
In addition to her parents, Dr. Colonel Ellis John Huey and Vannie Huey, she was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Huey.
She is survived by her husband Richard Frank Galvan, her four children Fawn D. E. Galvan, Richard E. Galvan, Rebecca L. Galvan, son-in-law Omar Herrera, and Jessica R. Galvan Coss, son-in-law Jesus Coss, 11 Grandchildren, Krystine, Tabitha, Grandson-in-law Edgar, Katerina, Alyssa, Ricardo, Grace, Summer, Richard Jr., Victoria, Zakariyah, Reuben and 15 Great Grandchildren Carlos, Angelina, Christopher, Elizabeth, Rozella, Izabella, Damian, Exavier, Lyla, Kristian, Leroi, Gabriela, Katia, Zerena, Elias. She is survived by her brothers Mike Huey, Robert Huey, and David Huey, her sister Vannie Huey, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Dian will be peacefully placed alongside her family on Saturday, May 16, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. The viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 02:00 p.m., with the funeral ceremony at 02:00 pm.
