Dr. Derek Alan Persons passed away on Monday September 28, 2015 after courageously battling a long-term illness. He was born in Sylacauga, AL and shortly thereafter moved to Gaffney, SC where he was raised. He attended Duke Univer Read Obituary
Janice and Emily, I am just today learning of Derek’s passing and am heart broken to learn of it. My wonderful memories of Derek go back to West Junior High (8th grade) and Gaffney High School (10th grade) where I was honored to have Derek in my English classes.
