Even as her hearing and eyesight declined, Aunt May remained bright and cheerful. And she always surprised us with how much she knew. She was on top of current events “worldwide”. She started every day with the newspaper—reading every column on every page. In her later years, she did so with a magnifying glass. RIP, Aunt May.
So glad I was able to spend a little time with Aunt May the past few months visiting at the Jewish Home. Talked of a few memories of the past and was able to see her in action playing bingo on Sunday afternoons. Thank you for the home cooked dinners you and Uncle Emmett shared with me. Until we meet again…
Russ and I send our sympathy to the family. What a special Aunt she was! I cherish the good times I had as a single living in Memphis spending time with Uncle Emmett and Aunt Mae at their place in the medical district. Mae was an intellect and her keen insights in conversations were always a treat for us. She was kind and brought out the best in anyone she met. Now, she sees her Saviour face to face!
