Debbie C. Stephens' Obituary
Debra C. Stephens (Debbie) passed away on October 1, 2025, her favorite month of the year. She is survived by her husband James Stephens Jr. (Jimmy) her brother in law Jody Stephens, sister-in-law Diana Stephens, John Craig brother, and sister in law Michelle Craig as well as nieces and nephews Danielle Alverado, Michael Craig, Bree, and Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her parents John Sr and Jimmie Craig.
Debbie was a prolific writer, poet, and reader. She loved travel and had traveled the entire coast of the continental USA and many National parks with her husband Jim. Debbie loved music and had studied classical piano for 12 years. She attended Overton High School and the University of Memphis. She had a very warm spot in her heart for animals from her childhood dogs to the cats she would later love as an adult. Debbie was a donor to various animal charities and the family asks that in lieu of flowers any contributions be donated to the Memphis Humane Society.
Services for Debbie will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10:00 am in the Fireside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the services beginning at 9:00am. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
