David and I went to school together from elementary through college. Were in choir together, shared a love of music/singing. We laughed a lot, sometimes till we cried. I think about Dave a lot. Though we were not in contact, I can’t believe he’s gone. Gone way too soon. My most sincere condolences Mrs. Wiggins. We will see him again.
Dave was best man at our wedding. He and Wayne had been friends for many years. We just found out two years after his passing. We live in Alaska and lost contact information. Sorry to hear of loss to those affected. I knew Dave through work for the last 7 or 8 years. He always had a good story to share and loved to play guitar. My condolences to his family….he is gone way too soon. Rest in peace my friend!

Dave was a very talented musician and a great man. We enjoyed playing with him for many years. I’ve known Dave & his family for many years. His family & ours used to attend church together many years ago at Kimball Ave. Church of Christ in Memphis. His Dad, Willy Wiggins, was a song leader there. His mother Tommie Jean & his sister Debbie were always so nice to me. Being a little older than Dave, I started learning to play guitar several years before he started. I remember going over to their house and teaching Dave some guitar chords. I was about 16 or 17 at the time and Dave was about maybe 10 or 11. I knew from the very beginning that Dave was going to become a great guitar player…he took what I showed him and really ran with it! The last time I got together with Dave was about 5 years ago at a club down on Beale St. My wife at the time and I had come for a visit & arranged to meet Dave & his musician buddy for an impromptu jam session. It was really a lot of fun & it was great to see Dave again after so many years! I saw just how good Dave had gotten on guitar…he sure blew me away!!! I send my heartfelt condolences To Tommie Jean & the rest of the family at the loss of such a fine son, brother & friend…I’m looking toward Heaven now & saying to Dave…REST IN PEACE MY BROTHER…YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED!!!
Dave was a good friend & musical comrade. We enjoyed time on & off stage together, & time in the studio together as well. I have so many good memories of that time we spent together, His incredibly smooth style as a picker, his insight, & his kind heart.
