Barry and family,
I was saddened to learn of David’s passing. It had been many years since I had seen him but, he was very much a very good friend all thru my HS years.
I first met David the summer after my 9th grade year (1980) at Lakeshore Camp and we became fast friends thereafter. It wasn’t difficult as I grew up with his best friends (Dean & Bret) and he dated my best friend (Amy) for several years.
I can’t tell you the number of times we’d slip out of school and cross the street to his home on Castleman (much to our principal’s dismay).
The countless weekends at Mongos and how seriously he took the release of Bob Geldof starring in Another Brick in the Wall at the Hickory Ridge mall (he let it be known that I should not talk during this movie). He bought us all pink carnations to wear (lol). We put a lot of miles on his yellow mustang!
Just countless memories until our adult lives took us different directions. I last saw him at The Stacked Deck when I returned his childhood scrapbook his mom had made for him (I was pregnant so, 27 years ago). Your mom was thrilled to have it back and invited me to a proper “tea”. She was delightful and always welcomed David’s friends into your home.
He was just incredibly funny and had an infectious personality ~ I always enjoyed his company and was glad to call him a friend.
We mourn the loss here on Earth but, take comfort in knowing he is healed with his Heavenly Father.
