David Skaarer's Obituary
DAVID A. SKAARER, 73, of Germantown died Wed., May 28 at home of natural causes. Born in Fargo, ND on June 27, 1940, he was a graduate of Memphis State University and a lifelong Tiger fan in good times and in bad. After a successful sales career, he left the corporate world and opened Pro Golf of Memphis in 1977. An avid golfer, he traveled the world playing golf and he also loved to play cards. Through the golf business, Dave never met a stranger and had a remarkable ability to relate to golfers of all ages. Dave had a great memory for people’s names and if you were lucky enough to meet him – you probably made a lifelong friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Lillian Skaarer and is survived by his wife Donna Skaarer, his daughter, Deenie Phelan (Steve), grandsons Brooks and Brendan, as well as his faithful canine companion “Little Rocky.” In addition, he leaves a sister, Beth Harte (Gary) of Germantown and a brother, Tim Skaarer (Linda) of Midwest City, OK. Visitation will be in the Clunan Center at St. Louis Catholic Church, Sat., May 31, 10am-12noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Germantown Animal Shelter.
