David A. Pritzke's Obituary
David A. Pritzke died suddenly at home on October 11, 2024. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to his beloved parents, Edwin Herman Pritzke and Ruth Prettack Pritzke. He leaves his wife, Gloria Hepburn (Pritzke); one sister, Carol Lynn Smith of Carmichael California; and two nieces also of California.
In 1959 he and his family moved to Memphis where his father worked for International Harvester. David went to White Station Elementary and White Station High School. He continued his studies at Washington University in St. Louis where he graduated with a degree in History. He and Gloria enjoyed several reunions there.
David worked for 32 years for the Internal Revenue Service as a computer analyst stationed at the Memphis service center and in Washington D.C.
He and Gloria loved to travel, so they set a goal to take at least one trip a month. If they happened to miss a month then they would take two trips the next month. In total, they were able to visit 49 states. They never made it to Hawaii but, they did go to the Grand Canyon eight times. The Yucatan was David’s true favorite. They made many, many trips down there tromping through the jungle photographing Mayan ruins.
Visitation will be Monday, October 21 at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel United Methodist Church. Services will be at 12:00 PM at the church with burial to follow at Memorial Park Southwoods.
Memorials may be sent to Emmanuel United Methodist Church at 2404 Kirby Road, Memphis Tennessee 38119 or to the charity of your choice.
