Mr Pang. David. Architect. Mentor. Man. Friend.
What does one say. I just found this out and am heartbroken. David was the kindest of souls. He had the jolliest of laughs. We met in 1985, working with him and Francis Mah and Mary Gorman and a host of others on USPS Kit of Parts. Years later, I would have the privilege of hiring him at a former firm, and then Francis, to help mentor a group of younger and hungry architects to be better designers...
Then a few years later, Mr. Pang came to archimania that led to a decade of work with us. What a wonderful addition to our world of archimaniacs. And the memories are countless...
With much love and admiration,
barry alan yoakum, FAIA and all archimaniacs that worked with him......
Evelyn and I send our deepest sympathy to Elisa and family in the loss of David Pang. He and Evelyn's brother, Charlie Chu, Jr. attended Tulane University upon their graduation from Greenville, MS during the 1950s. We have wonderful memories of him during the period that we grew up in the deep South and know that he will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family. RIP David!
