David J. Morris' Obituary
David J. Morris, 85, passed away December 10, 2011 at BaptistMemorialHospital – Collierville. He was a part of the 75th Infantry Division, who fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Morris was a decorated Army Veteran receiving the Combat Infantryman’s Badge and Bronze Star. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Jennie V. Morris and daughter, Barbara M. Ray and is survived by his daughter, Sherron M. Henderson; son, David W. Morris; brothers, Bobby Joe Morris, Frank Morris, and Thomas Morris; grandchildren Dr. N. Timothy Ray, Rebekah R. Brock, and Clayton D. Henderson; and great grandchild Carole Anne Brock. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to BaptistMemorialHospital – Collierville’s ER, ICU, and Step-Down Unit Nurses and Doctors for their compassionate and professional care rendered to their father during his illness. The funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 14 at Memorial Park Funeral Home, with burial to follow at MemphisMemoryGardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be sent to Parran’s ChapelBaptistChurch in Bolivar, TN, where he was a member for many years.
