David S Laney's Obituary
Davis S Laney, 82, passed away early Sunday morning after being a long victim of Alzheimer’s. David was born in Osceola, AR to David Saxon Laney and Elizabeth Swift Laney. He attended school in Osceola and attended high school at Western Military Academy in Alton, IL. He graduated from Vanderbilt University after which he served in the US Navy. Upon his return from the Navy he formed his own company and became a home builder. He has built homes in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas for the past 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Joann L. Moore. He was a member of Bartlett United Methodist Church. David is survived in loving memory by his children, Lisa (Cliff), Pulliam, David Eric (Stephanie) Laney, grandchildren, Landry and Cliff Pulliam, David Christopher and William Laney along with two step children, Michael Hall (Franki) and Joann Sutherland, four step-grandchildren, Megan Sutherland and Brooke Iniguez, Courtney Yanatelli and Tucker Hall. He is also survived by his loving wife, Cornelia. David was a unique individual whose hobbies included reading, studying the stock market, and investing. In his early years his sports interest was tennis. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 21 at 1:00PM at Memorial Park with the service to follow at 2:00PM. Donations can be made to ST. Jude and Kings Daughters and Sons Home on Appling Road.
