The moment I saw this it saddened me greatly. David and I grew up together from junior high thru high school. In 7th grade David would bring a small magnetic chess set to school and we played each other in the back of the room. We must have played a 100 games in 7th and 8th grade with both of us getting better. We also played on the basketball team together in Jr High. David was a great passer and shooter for the team. He had real skill there. We grew apart in college but still saw each other once in a while. I didn't know of his passing which is why I am writing this now. There was a group of us that loved to play basketball together. David, Greg, Mark, Raymond sometimes and myself. We all played at Gregs house usually. I remember one time, because the rim was so low that we could touch it. Well, one time David grabbed the rim and it came off the backboard and he stood there looking sheepish and held it behind his back. We all looked at him and we were scared at first but then we realized it was funny in a certain way. I would visit David at his house many times and we would go up to his room and just talk for a while. He was too young to pass and I will miss him. I hope he is in Heaven now.
