It is with great sadness that the family of David Wayne Card announces his peaceful passing on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at the age of 63 years old.A service in memory of David will be held at the Saint Stephen United Methodist Church located at the corner of Macon and Graham with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. and the service beginning at 2 p.m., Saturday August 5th, 2017 that will be officiated by Rev. Deb Christensen.A native and long term resident of Memphis, TN, David had graduated from Kingsbury School and attended two years at Lambuth University. David was employed for 19 years as a pump technician at Power Equipment Company. David had many talents that include being a creative and had an imagination that allowed him to take on any projects with regard to any kind of project that needed tending. He was so good at wood projects. He made at least 3 huge picnic tables and in the last couple of years was also in the garage working on another project or two. He was also a master grill chef that served delicious meals from a few family members to a large church congregation. David was a voracious reader, and since his illness, he was often caught sitting in the sunlight reading “another new book”. David was an active church member and sang bass in the choir at Saint Stephen United Methodist Church. His gentler side included gardening where the flowers ‘reflected his spirit blooming with life’. His favorite pastime would be throwing horseshoes with his brother, taking his grandchildren to the local fishing pond, going to Texas to see family or heading to Bear Creek Lake with his soulmate and wife, Jan competing for how many caught the most fish and the biggest. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jan of 10+ years and their children; Ashley, John, Jeremy, Julia, Lisa, Amanda and Jon including ten grandchildren ranging from 6 months to 21 years old and an expected grandchild due in January 2018. David will also be fondly remembered by his brother, Don Card. David was predeceased by his parents, Johnny and Montez and his brother Danny Card.
