David M. Brown's Obituary
David M. Brown, 52, of Collierville, TN passed away on December 14, 2019. He was born on October 23, 1967, in Memphis, TN. He began his career in the insurance and financial industry in 1991 when he became a partner at UCL Financial Group. He later founded Independent Truckers Group.He graduated from Memphis State in 1991. He and his wife, Leanne, met while members of the Memphis band, Mighty Sound of the South.David’s interests were his family, friends, and the Memphis Tigers. He loved seeing his kids excel in life and was their number one supporter in all of their endeavors. He was also an avid car enthusiast with a passion for fixing and racing hot rods, which is a love he passed on to his two sons. Every summer he could be found on Pickwick Lake enjoying time with his family and friends.David possessed a selfless nature and love of life that impacted the lives of those that knew him, as well as those that simply knew of him. His positive light touched many lives and left an impact throughout the community. Most of the Memphis area flocked to see his display of holiday cheer and décor, which is just a small demonstration of his service to others. He served as a role model to countless youth in the area.He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Joann Brown, and a sister, Christy Cain. David is survived by his wife Leanne Brown, their four children; Kaylie (23), Brayden (21), McKinley (18), and Gavin (16); one brother, Bob Brown (Debbie), three sisters, Joann Christian, Patty Parker (Jeff), and Cindy Collins (Rip); as well as a host of nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 19, also at Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor can be made to Streetdog Foundation and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
