David Lloyd Armbruster's Obituary
David Lloyd Armbruster died at home on December 28, 2017. David was born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee on December 31, 1946 to Lloyd and Gloria Armbruster. He attended high school Atlanta, Georgia. David always loved music joining the band and becoming drum major. After high school David attended Stetson University majoring in Russian literature. After Stetson he attended Vanderbilt University earning a PhD. He was Head, Scientific Publications and Library Communications at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis before retirement. He was very active in his church and sang in the choir. David never met a stranger. He was a friend to all. He was very close to his brothers Paul (Jean) of Lawrenceville, Georgia and Mark (Vicki) of Challis, Idaho. He was the best uncle and cousin. David will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church, 102 N. Second Street in Memphis, Tennessee on Saturday, January 13th at 2:00 PM with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the music department of Calvary Episcopal Church or to the Salvation Army.Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
